Drake was alongside John Calipari “Coach Cal” , the coach for the Men’s Kentucky basketball team “the WildCats” when he was asked to talk about his futur projects in a podcast. A long conversation that got him talking about how he literally started from the bottom, his life before and after Degrassi, the music business and his plans to get back into the acting world later on this year

Drake, the Degrassi kid

Because he wasn’t always the kind of guy who could afford to drop 100K on a girl, Drake talks about his humble beginnings. More precisely on how he wanted to fit in and  be cool. He says : “It was a couple hours before my first audition for Degrassi,”. “I was so angry at myself — I was in tears. I thought I had thrown my whole life away.” Through this interview, Drake reveals how he felt about auditioning for his role in Degrassi, a Canadian show about high school kids. He was only 16years old at the time when he portrayed Jimmy Brooks, a character who happened to be paralyzed.

Drake, the musician

During the interview, Drizzy also talks about his new musical project “More Life”, and his collaboration with Apple Music. he goes on to say: “I’m doing it to be remembered as a forward thinker.” The playlist he worked on with Apple will be composed of a couple hit songs from the Canadian artist as well as compositions with his OVO crew. He continued by : “To keep people excited, give them new music, let them know I’m still hungry.”

Drake, the actor

When asked about his future in acting, Drake told Calipari that he plans to return to the craft in the coming year. “Acting is another thing that I just can’t wait to really dive into,” he said. “I think after I release More Life, which is this playlist I’m working on and finish this tour, I think I’m going to really start to position myself in the acting world and, hopefully, take some great roles.”
